Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire
A vast park, landscaped gardens, a castle steeped in history, and above all, massive works of art that blend perfectly into the estate: a real favorite ❤️

Château de Chambord
Driving up and catching a glimpse of the castle in the distance is impressive. Then you arrive on foot, and it’s even more so. In fact, every corner of this castle is impressive, even the line for the restrooms.
If you only visit one, this is the one.

Château de Villandry
Perfectly symmetrical gardens just the way I like them, full of colors and shapes, and a lovely park for a stroll: we haven't checked the rent prices yet, but we can already picture ourselves living here.
Forest walk
A morning away from the castles to discover the region from a different perspective.
It’s hilly, with a mix of forest trails, paths along the rivers, and wide meadows. But the highlight was definitely seeing a turtle in the river.
Château d'Azay-le-Rideau
A stunning castle tucked away along the Indre river

Château de Saumur
Beautiful from afar, but far from interesting in the end. The Château de Saumur is imposing, but the interior, which has been turned into a museum of earthenware and horses, didn't leave much of an impression on us.
Royal Fortress of Chinon

A nice, quiet afternoon in the center of Chinon. It’s cute, the wine is good, but the hair is unfortunately too long.
Tours
We spent our last day exploring Tours, a cute city that seems like a great place to live. It’s a bit like Grenoble, but better—without the mountains, with fewer knife or gun attacks, and with better-designed riverbanks, though unfortunately with less Chartreuse.
